33.000 euros raised to help refugee children
Veröffentlicht 24 Jan 2020During the month of December, we at Knowit, along with our colleagues, friends, and clients, raised over 33.000 euros for the benefit of UNHCR’s project Educate a Child. For each krona donated, Knowit donated two.
There are more than 3.7 million refugee children worldwide who do not have the possibility to attend school and get an education. The reasons that they do not have this opportunity are many: poverty, conflicts, poor educational circumstances, lack of qualified teachers, financial obstacles, and so on.
“This is unacceptable – and we all have a responsibility to make a difference, so that these children and youths are given the chance to get an education,” says Per Wallentin, CEO and President of Knowit.
For that reason, Knowit started a fundraiser for the benefit of UNHCR’s project Educate a Child. Together with our colleagues, friends, and clients, we succeeded in raising a total of 33.000 euros in December, which will be donated in full to help refugee children – giving them a chance to attend school.
“We want to thank everyone who has contributed. With these funds, we have given 823 children the opportunity to attend school for one year,” says Per.
